CONTINGENCY PLANNING

 

InterWorks has worked closely with institutional clients to develop both guidelines and training materials for contingency planning as well as jointly conducting situation-specific contingency planning in the field. InterWorks consultants are available to assist institutions develop or evaluate their contingency plans as well as develop their training programs.

Representative Projects

United States Agency for International Development (USAID), 1994:
InterWorks developed specific contingency planning for a possible winter emergency in the in the city of Ulaan Baator, Mongolia. Plans were developed with information provided buy the concerned Mongolian Ministries, heating plant operations managers, Emergency Committee, and other key players.


United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, 2000-present:
InterWorks wrote, designed and published a distance education guide on Contingency Planning. This guide focuses on contingency planning for refugee influx emergencies. Since 2002, InterWorks has assisted UNHCR in conducting contingency planning exercises, workshops, and in facilitating development of specific contingency plans for several developing situations around the world.
