CONFLICT EARLY WARNING & PREVENTION

Those working in countries experiencing conflict and/or coming out of conflict need to be able to understand the causes and dynamics of the conflict, analyze existing information and anticipate potential triggers and escalation of violence. Humanitarian practitioners who participate in conflict early warning and prevention training learn the analytical skills necessary to help them develop more conflict-sensitive programs and activities.

Representative Projects:

United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC), 1999-present:
InterWorks has facilitated workshops (lead facilitator since 2001) for the UN System Staff College Early Warning and Preventive Measure project. Workshops have been conducted in Papua New Guinea, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, Niger, Senegal, South Africa, Hungary and Italy.
