InterWorks co-facilitated a pilot workshop in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 11-16 November 2013, outlining how the ministries of education might integrate education for peace and conflict prevention into their sector planning and curriculum development process.
Participants included experienced educational planners and curriculum developers from ministries of education in Somalia and Ethiopia. The workshop also provided a forum for exchange on the role of education in promoting peace and conflict prevention. Upon review of the training modules, participants had the opportunity to give feedback on the materials and suggest revisions to the final resource package to be developed by IIEP and the International Bureau of Education (IBE).
