CARE International’s Rapid Environmental
Impact Assessment in Disasters Programme (“REA”,
a USAID funded project), 2002-2006: InterWorks
has developed and produced an electronic learning
and reference packet which includes a self-study
course and related reference material. The course
and packet were created using the eLearning Outstart
TrainerSoft software.
Focus, 2001: InterWorks developed
& facilitated a blended, distance/e-learning
and workshop-based learning programme for Focus
International. This blended learning programme
on emergency assessment and response included:
a pre-workshop Web-based emergency assessment
planning component, a face-to-face Disaster Assessment
and Coordination Training workshop, a three month
post-workshop Web-based “disaster of the
month" assessment project, and a final face-to-face
technical sectors assessment workshop.
Self Study Distance
Learning
UNHCR, Self Study Distance Learning:
Emergency Preparedness Competency Series: In collaboration
with UNHCR’s Emergency Preparedness and
Response Section and the University of Wisconsin-Disaster
Management Center, InterWorks developed a series
of self-study distance learning modules on emergency
preparedness and response. These courses assist
humanitarian response staff in developing their
skills and knowledge in several functional areas
including:

Multimedia Development
The Salvation Army USA (SA), National
Disaster Training Program (NDTP) June 2002-2005:
InterWorks was contracted during the first phase
of the project to develop and produce materials
for nine of the program courses. InterWorks produced
four training videos to distribute on DVD and
also in digital form to insert and play from the
training PowerPoints. |
