Emergency Response Workshop on Refugee Protection for Managers

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) | Nov 2017

InterWorks designed and facilitated an eCentre Emergency Response Workshop on Refugee Protection for Managers in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran from 12-15 November 2017. This workshop was organized at the request of the UNHCR BO in I.R. Iran to further develop the capacity of counterparts from the Bureau for Aliens and Foreign Immigrants Affairs (BAFIA) and the National Disaster Management Organization (NDMO), two government entities responsible for management of refugees and disasters within I.R. Iran, along with representatives from the national Red Crescent and the Ministry of Health

The event was implemented over four days and focused on the sectoral response to refugee emergencies, the centrality of protection, and coordination aspects of emergency response – all from a management perspective. Participants were either Directors, Deputy Directors, or Managers from their respective organizations.

I have learnt more in this workshop than in my whole 27 years of work experience.
