InterWorks conducted the first pilot for the Emergency Shelter Environment Advisor workshop in Wadduwa, Sri Lanka from 18-20 March 2009. The terms of reference for the workshop included the development of a curriculum and session plans for a three day workshop with a focus on giving environmental specialists the basic professional knowledge needed to support shelter cluster field operations.
Participants represented the following agencies: WWF, RedR, Environment Foundation, CARE, FORUT, the Disaster Management Center, local and national NGOs, and IUCN.
