United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) | May-Sep 2010
InterWorks conducted a series of High Risk Environment Security Trainings (HEST) from May to September 2010. The HEST was an innovation of the Global Learning Centre in late 2009 to deliver training to international staff operating in high risk environments.
The concept of the training was to provide advanced security training for staff operating in environments in which they are more likely to come into contact with more dangerous threats and situations than would be the case in less intense environments. It was for these extreme situations that the training was designed. Eighteen (18) workshops were delivered to a total of 399 UNHCR staff in Jordan, Pakistan, Hungary, Kenya, Chad, Sudan, South Sudan, DR Congo and Yemen.
