Managing and Leading International Humanitarian Response Workshop

InterWorks and the UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness (the eCentre) facilitated a 5-day Managing and Leading International Humanitarian Response workshop from 3-7 December 2018 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. BRAC, a Bangladesh NGO, co-organized the workshop and provided critical exchange of knowledg as one of the key responders in Bangladesh providing integrated services to refugees and host communities.

The main objective of the workshop was to enhance understanding of managers and key decision-makers of the practical realities of international humanitarian response in order to enhance their decision-making, planning, leadership and management of humanitarian response teams. Key goals of the workshop included discussing humanitarian issues from a strategic programme and personnel management perspective and improving interpersonal management and leadership skills. The 5-day event included focused sessions on:

  • Information about management of international humanitarian response
  • Personal management and leadership skills
  • Case studies and exchange of ideas and experiences

It was good training and sharing of new areas of intervention in Emergency
