International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP)/UNESCO Oct 2016
InterWorks supported the development and implementation of an e-Forum entitled: Leaving no one behind: planning for inclusion of displaced population in the education sector. Working as part of a team of organizers, including IIEP, UNHCR, PEIC and GPE staff, InterWorks assisted in the preparation of forum, moderated the discussion during the forum and assisted with the development of a final report at the forum’s conclusion.
The e-Forum was designed to provide a space to discuss challenges and strategies for planning education for displaced populations and brought together education officials, humanitarian and development partners, refugees and IDPs, and teaching staff – over 480 participants from 86 countries – to discuss how governments and their partners can better plan for the provision of quality education for displaced populations. Hosted on IIEP UNESCO’s virtual platform, the e-Forum revolved around three overarching themes: access, quality and management, with discussions focusing on specific challenges and potential solutions for each.
