InterWorks facilitated a pilot online workshop “Security Training for Women in the Field” on 15-16 January 2024 for the UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness – eCentre. The online training was completed by 30 participants from UNHCR and its partner NGOs from several countries in the region.
The workshop’s stated objectives were to recognize the importance of situational awareness in helping to manage security risks; describe different manifestations of violence against women; recognize the importance of preparation prior to undergoing travel; outline ways to deter unwanted attention in public and in hotels; and outline prevention and mitigation measure to reduce the risk of security incidents.
All the sessions from training benefited me. Learning about more for security for women in the field. It gave me alert or more to aware especially during this tough times in my area
