InterWorks designed and conducted two Situational Emergency Training (SET) workshops, including a simulation exercise, for UNHCR and its UN, NGO and government partners, delivered in Spanish in Lima (from 21-22 January 2019) and in Tumbes, Peru (23-25 january 2019), respectively.These SET workshops strengthened the capacities of UNHCR and its partners to prepare for and respond to the unfolding migrant and refugee emergency in Peru due to the Venezuela situation. Topics included: contingency planning, protection, coordination, registration, SPHERE sectors and standards in humanitarian response, planning a collective shelter center and managing media and communications.
