Situational Emergency Training (SET)

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) | Aug 2017

InterWorks conducted a Situational Emergency Training (SET) workshop in Villahermosa, Mexico from 1-4 August 2017, for UNHCR and partners from Mexico, Panama, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Costa Rica. The workshop was organized by UNHCR Mexico and UNHCR Panama with support from UNHCR Global Learning Center and Interworks LLC. Twenty-nine participants attended this course; 16 from UNHCR and 13 from partner agencies.

The workshop, conducted in Spanish, was designed to strengthen the capacities of UNHCR offices and their partners in the region to integrate and strengthen protection within their response to the Northern Triangle of Central America (NTCA) situation. Participants were equipped with a variety of practical tools, resources, and standards related to emergency preparedness and response. Practical exercises and table-top exercises gave participants the opportunity to apply their understanding of these standards as per specific scenarios.

Making the course participatory makes the course more meaningful, being a team helps us understand more and know the function of other participants. Excellent thank you!
