InterWorks facilitated a UNHCR Global Learning and Development Centre (GLDC) and Field Security Service (FSS) hybrid Security Management Learning Programme (SMLP) in Nairobi, Kenya from 24-28 April 2023. For this hybrid SMLP participants were expected to complete all of the components – two online meetings (28 February and 16 March 2023), three multi-session Learn & Connect modules and a one-week residential workshop.

The Security Management Department of the JICA Planning Division in Tokyo requested InterWorks to lead an in-person Security Risk Management (SRM) workshop this year. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, an online version of the JICA SRM was developed and implemented in 2021 and 2022. This SRM workshop, which took place from 30 January-1 February 2023, was based on the original (2020) agenda with minor modifications made based on experiences during both the in-person and online JICA SRM workshops. InterWorks facilitated a shortened version of the Workshop on Emergency Management Online (WEMO) ran over four days, starting on Friday 24 June, and continuing the following Tuesday-Thursday, from 28-30 June. Overall coordination, planning and administration of the workshops were managed by the UNHCR Global Learning & Development Centre (GLDC) which administers the WEM on behalf of the Division of Emergency, Security and Supply (DESS). Overall event design, facilitation, and preparation of workshop materials was done by InterWorks, LLC. in concert with the UNHCR GLDC and UNHCR content experts as designated by the GLDC. Read more
