Lynne Bethke
has extensive training, research, planning and evaluation experience in the field of education in emergencies and early reconstruction. Through the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning she worked with the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan to develop a five-year National Education Strategic Plan and facilitated aspects of Education for All planning in Angola and Liberia. She participated in the UNICEF multi-sectoral evaluation of the tsunami response in Indonesia and evaluated the UNHCR-NRC education agreement for stand-by staff. She has designed and delivered training and capacity building programs for UN, NGO and government education officials working primarily with governments and UN agencies, including UNESCO, UNESCO-IIEP, UNICEF and UNHCR, and the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE).
