Jim Good
has over 15 years experience in emergency planning, post-disaster reconstruction, emergency management training, disaster simulation design, disaster and program assessment, and workshop facilitation. He was responsible for producing distance education materials for the UNHCR Emergency Preparedness & Response section (now called the Emergency & Technical Support Services). Additionally, Jim has developed training distance education program materials and training videos for the UNHCR Emergency Management Training Programme (EMTP) and the American Salvation Army’s National Disaster Training Program. He was a contributor for the 2004 edition of the Sphere Handbook and is a trainer for the Sphere Project on Minimum Standards in Disaster Response. Jim has done post-disaster reconstruction planning for the Federal Emergency Management Agency and emergency preparedness assessments for USAID/OFDA. He was the Global Coordinator for the UNHCR Emergency Management Training Programme from 1992-2000. Jim also developed training materials related to reconstruction programs, migration management, refugee emergency management and security risk management for international humanitarian field work. Mr. Good is conversant in Russian.
